I think this and the eb5 investor visa are my two favorite visas. They offer such different but equal opportunities. One gives well off investors the chance to move their families here and boost local economies and create jobs, the other gives a method of entry for someone who might otherwise not have had a chance. Both provide the same thing in the end: opportunity.

Mike, The lottery system and the eb5 system certainly seem to occupy opposite ends of the immigration visa spectrum and both provide opportunity for newcomers. And the eb5 investor visa is about to get an improvement, which is called the "startup visa." it is a bill in congress that is sponsored by John Kerry of Massachusetts, and would lower the minimum investment to only 250K. That's a huge improvement over the original 1Million.
